Block Bait is a soybean based bait, compressed into 4″ square blocks. Due to the compaction, this bait will normally last 2-4 days, but has been known to last up to a week in a net. Used primarily for baiting Hoop Nets, Reinforcement Wire Traps, Slat Traps, as well as any other type of fish trap. It is also popularly used for baiting up fishing holes for pole fishing. Comes in standard 12" long blocks or convenient, single bait 4" long blocks. Depending on your preference 12" blocks may be used in full blocks or can be cut into any length you choose. Can be simply thrown in the trap but lasts longer when used in a bait bag.
Block Bait is best used fresh but shelf life can be extended if kept dry, indoors and in a container to keep animals and bugs away. Under these conditions shelf life could be good for 60-90 days. We have found that freezing the bait will keep its potency for up to a year and possibly longer. Bait may mold over time, but will not affect the bait.
